The Aire cells are 8" high and are constructed with 40% nylon/60% PVC for longevity and durability. The zippered mattress cover is constructed with a quilted, urethane coated, nylon fabric which is, water resistant, vapor permeable, machine washable and low sheer safeguarding the patients skin and comfort. The "Whisper Quiet" pump produces a consistent air flow and the special vibration isolating features insure that the patient rests easily. The Med Aire Edge is a dual mode system with Alternating Pressure Therapy with the added safety feature of a 3” wide transfer edge. This helps enable safe and easy transfers on and off the surface, and also reduces falls and entrapment. Alternating modes assist in wound healing and prevention and there are four operating cycles (5/10/15/20 min) based on therapy requirements. The Med Aire Edge also has a Constant Low Pressure (static) option, as well as a max inflate and seat inflation for the Fowler position. A 3” foam layer is also built into the base of the surface to prevent clients from bottoming out. The mattress cover is treated with an antimicrobial to guard against degradation from microorganisms on the cover.
